Priyanka Chopra Jonas is one of the most vocal actresses in the entertainment industry. She never shies away from expressing herself and revealing the harsher truths about the industry. The actress had recently returned to India after three years to promote her hair care brand, Anomaly.
During the promotions, she got into a discussion with former journalist Janice Sequeira about the role of an actor in the entire filmmaking process. She shared that actors have a very limited role because they wear clothes designed by someone else, their hair and make-up are done by others, and they even recite dialogues written by someone else. The global icon revealed that working with the best filmmakers made her the best actor.
Speaking to the content creator, the 40-year-old actress stressed the fact that actors do nothing. They only come in for a 30-second scene and steal the spotlight from everyone who has tirelessly worked hours prior to make that scene happen. She said, "We give too much credit to actors; actors do nothing by the way. We really don’t. I’ve always said this. Actors do nothing… Those 30 seconds of a scene, is where I come in. She further stated that actors simply perform on scripts and songs that are made by others. She expressed, "We say out somebody else’s words, we are working on a script that is written by someone else, we are lip-syncing and singing songs that are in someone else’s voice. We’re dancing steps that are choreographed by somebody else. We are doing marketing, where questions are asked by somebody else. We are dressed by somebody, hair and makeup are done by somebody. On the work front, the Desi girl is all set to make her web-series debut with the Russo Brothers' Citadel. She will start shooting for Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa, co-starring Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt, after wrapping up her Hollywood projects, Love Again and Ending Things.
